Bound Newsletter 01.01.2023
As many of you know, I recently started the new book ‘Never finished’ by David Goggins. I want to share an excerpt that I took personally and felt is needed within our community. 2022 has been a very awkward year for me. I’ve felt disconnected from our Bound community more than ever. Our community is strong, but we can grow stronger together.
“Every minute you feel sorry for yourself is not getting better, another morning you miss at the gym, another evening wasted without studying. Another day burned when you didn’t make any progress toward your dreams, ambitions, and deepest desires. The ones you’ve had in your head and heart your entire life.”― David Goggins
I believe we all have ambitions and desires. Why would you train on a daily/weekly basis with a bunch of badasses? Boats all rise with high tides. Let’s all become better versions of ourselves daily this year. If you want to be a better father, mother, husband, wife, or student, or want that job, job promotion, whatever it is. Let’s all work to get 1% better daily. Take that training course, get that extra workout in a week, and lose that fat you’ve been talking about. Let’s all do something that creates greatness for all of us.
Bragging Board:
The board this week, is a little different in that it’s nothing lift-related, just celebrations of life and heroism.
We’ve had two couples recently tie the knot
Stuntman Michael Jamorski and Jessi Fisher were married a couple of weeks ago in Florida.
Brittany Gillis and Christian Schramm tied the knot this past weekend in Ohio
As many of you heard, recently there were 2 kids who fell through ice close to our gym (Lakeside Vista Apartments - Ellison Lake). CFB Member Jessica Richardson, heard the call over the radio following the class workout. She responded and without hesitation jumped in the ice water to help rescue the 1st victim. Thank you for your sacrifice and dedication to our community. You can check out the full story below.

Journal Article of the Week - “Why is it important to Fail in the Gym”
"The lessons learned through physical training are unavoidable. The character traits required and developed through physical training are universally applicable to all endeavors. Perseverance, industry, sacrifice, self-control, integrity, honesty and commitment are best and easiest learned in the gym. Even clients who have found spectacular success in business, sport, war or love find their most important values buttressed, refined and nourished in rigorous training." (CrossFit Journal, 2006)
